Who? What? Are Angels?

SECRET KNOWLEDGE THROUGH THE AGES

The angels come into all of our lives in a variety of ways. Some people meet them directly, in person or in visions and dreams. Others have felt their scintillating prescence or heard them speaking or singing. Still others have experienced them as muses who inspire them creatively. And some, through the centuries, have dedicated their lives to studying angels from a purely philosophical or theological perspective.

In the past, the methods used for connecting with angels were kept strictly secret.
Only certain initiates of spiritual sects, those who were older, well established in their lives, and generally male, were taught the deditations and consciousness-shifting techniques necessary to open to our invisible companions. Most of this knowledge could only be passed on verbally, from teacher to student. In more superstitious times, it was with good reason that the information was carefully cherished and what was written down was often encoded or deliberately made unintelligible except to those already on the path.

THE END OF THE AGE OF SECRETS

But we are living in a different time in history. Secret traditions are now being shared openly all over the planet. We stand on the brink of massive change. On the one hand, we face apparent global disaster, and on the other, there is the potential for the most glorious spiritual transformation our species has ever seen. We seem to be more out of balance than ever. Yet, we are also more globally entwined, more open and caring and evolved. At this time of personal and planetary acceleration, previous rules and old forms are being discarded. Contact with the angels, which used to take years of meditation and dedication, is now available to all who seek it, because the angels are closer to us, and more open to working with us on a conscious level, than they have been in thousands of years.

It's apparent that the angels are coming into more and more people's lives right now, bearing the same message---it is time to change, time to grow and heal our lives and our beloved planet. And the angels aren't making contact just with special people, or in a secret way. They are doing it openly, joyfully, bringing good humor and good news.

THE ANGELIC NATURE

Angels don't have human natures, although we humans continue to project our characteristics upon them. They see and understand things in a very different perspective from the way we do. While we do have much in common, especially in regard to our higher goals, it's our very differences that can lead to fascinating dialogues.

All kinds of contradictory information can be found in angel lore. Some believe that angels are immortal, while others claim they are created only for a specific time and function. People argued long into the night over such questions as: When were the angels created? Do they have free will? Are they entirely creatures of mind and spirit, or do they have physical bodies of some sort? Can people become angels, or are they an entirely separate species? Do angels ever come to Earth and take on human form? Are they higher than humans in the great chain of being, and therefore our potential teachers? Or are they more like our spiritual servants?

And---that hoary old question---are they really external creatures at all? Could it be that angels are aspects of our souls? Or that they are the reflections of our future selves toward whom we are evolving?

All of these conflicting ideas have been held to be true by a variety of scholars and spiritual seekers over the last three thousand years. But no two angel encounters are ever quite the same and, as we have stressed, there is no one right way to meet them.

Although they're coming to us in a new and different manner, and are making contact with us more easily than ever before, it's helpful and instructive to know something of how our predecessors viewed the angels. As you read some of the accounts, remember that almost everything written about angels shows us yet another aspect of their fluid reality, and surely carries another piece of the larger truth. In showing you how different each encounter is, we hope that it will be simpler for you to embark on your own unique and joyful adventure.

WHAT DO ANGELS LOOK LIKE?

Just as there's no correct way to experience angels, there's no right way to see them either. They manifest in a myriad of ways to different people. As we follow some of their appearances through the ages and see how they've chosen to be with some of our ancestors, you will begin to appreciate their wonderful fluidity.

Since we are so dependent on information from our five senses, we asked Sargolais (pronounced
sar-go-lie'-iss), our companion angel, to tell us what an angel might look like, if we could see it.

SARGOLAIS: That's difficult to answer. Physicists are finding the same problem in determining what an electron is like. Is it a particle or a wave? Is it in one place at a time, or in several? So, too, with angels.

Our bodies exist in several places at one time, or in all of them. So how can you draw a picture of an angel or take its photo? You cannot. We can slow ourselves down enough to appear in one place and time, but we do that for you.

If your subtle senses were fully developed, as they will be in your future history, you might begin to see us as radiant pulsing beings of light. This light isn't the same as the light that comes from a sun, a fire, or a light bulb. It is a far more subtle and all-pervading light.

So you'd see us like that, but you'd also see us in many differenty places at the same time. This would be something like holding many slides of the same person up to a bright light, so you could view them all at the same time. In themidst of this overlay of bodies, you would see an intricate tracery of fibers, like filigree work, or more correctly like the meridians---the fibers of flowing energy---of the acupuncture system in your bodies. Some of these fibers would be seen inside our bodies, but many of them would also be extending outward, in a timeless, spaceless way, to every part of the universe. It's these fibers that some of you have sensed as wings, while it's the light of us that has caused others to see us as wearing halos.

There are many different kinds of angels. Some of us might appear to you as multidimensional spheres, while others would appear as shafts of light, spirals of light, cones of light, ranging in size from a dot to a galaxy. While our size is filtered through your perceptions, it does bear some relationship to our function and nature. The larger we appear, the more collective our function. So, those of us you'd call "higher beings" will appear to you as large.

TRANSFORMATION AMONG THE ANGELS

It's become apparent to angel watchers over the last few years that profound changes have been occurring in the realms of our celestial cousins. We asked our recording angel Abigrael for some inside information.

ABIGRAEL: "What is being reorganized is the relationship of certain angels who work with your world. This is because changes in your collective consciousness are now allowing us to come closer than ever before.

What I've been commissioned to share with you is how things are now. some of what existed in the past was either recorded wrong, remembered wrong, or deliberately changed to conform to human belief systems at different times.

For example, there are four major overlighting archangels who are involved with human life on Earth. When you thought that the Earth was at the center of the universe, these four seemed quite important
in Heaven. They are not. There are millions of archangels. These four, however, are quite important on Earth. More of them used to be needed to get information through to you because you were less receptive. But as you have evolved, fewer archangels are needed!

Today, the archangels Gabriel, Michael, Raphael, and Uriel are relevant for Earth. Later on, I will be giving you up-to-the-minute briefings on how they're now working for you. This is not the same as the information you have from the past; they are no longer working in quite the same way. Michael, for example, was always seen with a sword, cutting away evil. But as you are mastering duality, Michael doesn't need to do that. Its functions have shifted, and it is now the Guardian of Peace.

As another example, Gabriel was always seen as the Angel of Revelation, but as you come closer to us, the nature of revelation changes. You no longer need things to be revealed that you're open to in other ways. So Gabriel is taking on different functions, experiencing changes in its job description, and simply becoming the Angel of Relationship.

You're living more in harmony with All That Is, even if it doesn't seem this way on the surface. This is why 'Ask Your Angels' can come into being now, whereas in the past the same capacity to make connection might have taken twenty years of practice.

Congratulations on your evolution as a sentient species---even if the evidence is still visibly lacking."
