Buried Lies, Burdened Lives

That makes you feel bad inside, but it goes away.

Then things are cool until you lie again,
then the new lie wakes up old lies,
and you have to wait longer for them
to submerge again to feel better.

Lies don't really go away when you forget about them.
They are still there buried inside you.
They get covered over by a coating of time and activity,
but one only has to stir up the soul
to uncover them again, and feel bad again.

A lie is a little like a cancer cell.
It can lay dormant for a long time,
but when it's stirred to the surface it devours
another little piece of your soul which has to be
hidden again to regain inner peace.
This inner peace comes at a high price though.

In burying a lie, you bury a part of yourself.
After enough dirt is thrown over a pile of lies
it becomes more difficult to access your higher self,
so you operate less efficiently as a human being.

In doing so, your life becomes more chaotic and less joyful.
This is but one reason it's necessary to mark
the growth and decay of our soul.

We have to ask ourselves from time to time
where we might be going off course.
We have to see where we need to make corrections.
We have to determine what is necessary
for us to continue growing up.

The alternative is to be buried alive,
little by little, by our own doing.

Personal growth is a duty of life.

A duty that many don't embrace
once they reach a mechanical level of comfort.
This comfort level is but an illusion though.
It acts as a barrier to greater things, to our ideals,
our hopes and dreams, and to our higher selves.

It takes desire and guts to go beyond the illusion.
